In the beginning of this year I made a new video to enter a few festivals in German.

The collaboration between Sophie Reyer and me always comes naturally somehow. She sends me poems, recordings, music,… and I respond with more music, film… and a visual concept.

It was like that some years back with ‘Abschied’  and it worked again with ‘Metamorphosis’

I used her reading and some piano music from Manon – Liu Winter that she had sent me. I remixed the piano part with some sounds of my own and started thinking about the right footage.

Jan Eerala  makes these fantastic recordings and video’s from his surroundings in Finland. I used his material before (and will continue to do so as long as he lets me 🙂 ) because it’s such strong material. With a language of its own and plenty of stories to tell. Perfect for videopoetry all together.

Metamorphosis made it to the final selection of the competition of the 2nd Weimar Poetry Film Award 2017. Something to be proud of and for which I’m grateful.

Enjoy;
